Know your God, not your enemy

The Israelites were terrified by Goliath’s size, but not David. To David, Goliath was just an uncircumcised Philistine who had defied the armies of the Living God (1 Samuel 17:11,26).

David drew his confidence from the times he had seen the hand of God fight for him (vs 37). He knew his God, and that was enough. He didn’t need to know anything about Goliath.
